First of all a little bit of detail about the hard drive and what is on it.
First of all the hard drive is a 1TB External Hard Drive it is a Toshiba I have had it for over a year maybe closer to 2 years.
I have 2 folders on the hard drive currently folders are titled "TV Shows and Movies".
When it comes to TV Shows I currently have (47). Each folder is organized by folder name and each folder is titled based on the TV Show series name and year released. And each folder is organized by name but not by year. Each folder is titled like this example "Motherland - Fort Salem (2020)". This is one folder and once this folder is opened I have "Season 1, Season 2, Season 3".
I use 2 free programs to help me rename and organize all my TV Show episode files. Below I will get into more detail on how I create my lists.
(1) I have opened my "File Explorer"
(2) I select "View" and then "Item check boxes" and "File name extension"
(3) I look to the left and find "Movies & TV Shows (F:)" which is my hard drive located on the left under "This PC"
(4) Now I open the drive and select "TV Shows" Once in the folder I select "Check Box" next to "Name" which selects the entire list of folders
(5) Hold Shift while right-clicking and then left-click on "Copy as path"
(6) Open "Notepad" and "Paste" the list into the Notepad
(7) List look like this - "F:\TV Shows\Into The Badlands (2015)"
(8) I need to remove "F:\TV Shows\ I will leave the - Into The Badlands (2015) - and remove the "
(9) So the list will look like this - Into The Badlands (2015)
To quickly remove the parts that need to be removed from the list I do this:
(1) I move to the first "TV Show" from the list which is "1883 (2022)"
(2) So I look for "F:\TV Shows\1883 (2022)" and select "F:\TV Shows\ and then click on "Edit" and then select "Replace" and I see "F:\TV Shows\ inside Find what" and then inside Replace with" I leave this blank. And then I click "Replace All".
(3) Now every single "TV Show" title has "F:\TV Shows\ been removed from the list of TV Show folders that have been copied to the Notepad.
(4) Now I do the same thing to remove the " and now I just have a list with the (YEAR) and then the list is also "Alphabetical".
This list is very simple it is just a list of TV Show names and the year they had been released. I do plan to add more details to the list. But this is just for starters. Now that the list has been made I will be saving it as a .TXT file named "TV Shows" pretty simple.
